A Chatroulette-style platform for video chats with strangers, but with a twist. You connect with 100 strangers, but it only streams audio and video from one at a time, while everyone else is stuck with text chat. Not another fucking idea! Moving the ideas pub chat to a place where they can be left to be roasted by others.
For developers and designers to find teammates and build interesting side-projects
10
As a developer myself, I can get fed up with just work tasks and want to build some side-projects that are creative and bold, so i can tinker with new technologies though not relevant to work or just showcase my skills and wow people. However, I can get stuck with just myself or I cannot think of something interesting to do, so I think it would be awesome to have this kind of platform where developers and designers can post their side-projects ideas and recruit some teammates to work on them together in whatever way they like. Even these side-projects can hardly be commercialised, we as creators can find them very rewarding I suppose.
We've all had that one person who consistently talks crap on the phone and the calls go on and on and on. The idea to solve it: an app that can be opened when on a phone call that delivers the static noise of a call breaking up down the phone line. Boom. Close the call. Irritating person avoided. Win

Test if your product will sell without inventory
8
Lots of Dropshippers want to sell their own products.
The problem is when you order from a manufacturer, there's a minimum order quantity which usually costs you 1000s of dollars.
You don't have that kind of money to test your product!
Idea: A simple shopify plugin where you can place your product for purchase without ordering inventory. When someone clicks "Add to Cart", you get a "Sorry, just went out of stock" message with a chance to give your email so you can be notified when it's back in stock.
Test this by driving traffic to 10s of products and see which one is a winner.

Axe-the-Ex for when 'unfriending' isn't enough.

A service where someone calls you every morning for 10mins to plan/talk about your upcoming workday
8
Each morning when I wake up, I try to do all usual productivity stuff -- journaling, making to-do lists, etc. And it just *doesn't* happen. Everyone has certain things they are interested in. For some people it's animals, for some it's cricket, for some it's Napoleon. But none of us have the time/energy to scan a television guide/TV replay websites and so lots of us miss programmes we would actually enjoy watching. The business idea is an app/website where users enter their interests and then the app scrapes TV guides as well as iPlayer, 4OD, ITVplayer, etc., to suggest programmes the user would enjoy watching that evening. Could be extended to radio broadcasts/podcasts.
Put a filter on this site so that we can see the best ideas at the top and under the all time leaderboard, It would be nice to click on that person and see their actual ideas not their twitter profile.

BeuniQ - Visual Storytelling for Professionals (Instagram for LinkedIn)
5
The world would be moving towards a more visual nature of storytelling from the current widespread text format(in platforms like LinkedIn, Medium, Quora, etc.), as consumer attention spans decrease and information overload keeps increasing. Visual attractiveness and easy consumability of a content will drive content engagement to a great extent. Stories with a visual appeal are inherently more engaging, more personal and more shareable.
Currently, it takes a lot of effort to create an audio/video story as you have to use multiple tools for recording, trimming, editing, adding visuals, text, etc. Also, if you want to create a quick visual for increasing engagement on your posts, it takes a lot of time with current tools, which are primarily desktop focused as well.
In such a scenario, BeuniQ, a mobile first product, provides professionals a very easy way to create audio/video stories & visual elements using Text, Audio, Video & Images based on their interesting ideas, thoughts and perspectives and share it across any platform they like. Give it a try here: http://onelink.to/beuniq

A Big 99Designs But For Photos
5
I like the idea of a marketplace, where users or brands could just request a specific custom photo... A place where everyone with a camera could make some easy money, and brands/users could get original custom made photos for their needs for a cheap price...
Stock photo websites are too boring... photo are not custom made, plus other users/brands are using the same photos...
The main idea of the app is to help users take meds regularly, accurately shift doses of med and automatically order meds when stocks are low. It’ll send alerts at specific times of the day to take meds, and as specified, change the dosage per day. User will also have to input initial stock of medicine available to him/her and based on that stocks will be ordered automatically. As additional features, users would have to input the problems faced by them and the severity, which would be stored in a database to be analyzed by AI. In future, these analyses could be used to suggest possible treatments ASAP.
Fake Flight Ticket generator
5
Many countries require a proof of onward travel, when you are traveling on a one-way ticket. This is especially annoying for digital nomads who like to keep their travel options opens. Site would generate a booking confirmation document, that would look exactly like a real one.
CAPE - Computer Aided Procedural Engineering authoring tool
4
I think it is too early to bet on AI. We should think about what the pinnacle of algorithms looks like.
Sophisticated Procedural Content Generation solutions based on a semantic web technology could be used to automate any creative process.
A CAPE SaaS could let non-programmers create and maintain the PCG rulebooks with through an authoring tool.
You fill these special flip flops with water and place in the freezer over night. As you’re going about your day - you’ll be super cooled with these ice cube flip flops.
Backup your YouTube Playlist
4
The problem it tries to solve is, Youtube videos get deleted and there's no way in knowing what kind of videos were taken off your Youtube playlist. But if you had a backup of your playlist you would at least get to see the video title & thumbnail which would help you a lot if you decide to search for that video somewhere else.
A site where people upload their photos. The photo EXIF data would be used to tag it to a time and place. The site would then allow people to search for photos based on time and place. So, if you go to a concert or sporting event, you could get photos other people took from the same event. You could also get pics from a party or wedding you were at. There would have to be some level of permissions for sharing but ideally the site would encourage sharing with the public for non-personal events.
Skimm the web. We already do it, why not better?
4
Problem:
There is a lot to read on the web. We don't always have time for long-form pieces but we want to read 'this interesting article'.
Symptoms:
We either crowd our browser with dozens of tabs, hate ourselves for not having time to read them, or don't read them at all.
Solution:
What if you could read or write your own summary/cliff note of every web page (with text/video/photos) that you visit?
It could be a browser extension that shows an additional side panel to read or write your own summary of the current page that you are on. Rank all of them by other users. In essence - a shorthand version of the web.
There are of course some problems with this idea, mainly misinformation.
Need to head to the grocery store just a mile away from your house but also need to hit your daily goal of jogging 3 miles? An app that allows you to buy someone a commodity in real time depending on where the 'someone' is at the moment. X goes to a bar. X's friend Y, who is not in the same premise wants to buy X a drink. Y makes it happen through 'From My Side'.
When we get kicked out of the bar at 2am the night often breaks down. Would be cool to have an app which lists all places which are open late into the night so the party doesn't die at 2am!

Engaging Interactive voice based stories for your children through Alexa/Google Home
4
Alexa/Home devices are being more widely used but there is a dearth of engaging voice skills for children. We would like to deliver stories to children that they can interact with to choose various forks leading to alternate endings. Would this be an interesting voice skill for your children?
Cross-University Statistics Forum for Students and Lecturers
4
My last 10 or so questions on cross-validated haven't been answered. The community is dwindling and doesn't (at all) feel tight-knit. I think a forum just for students roughly the same age would lead to a more vibrate community. People would want to help answer each other's questions.
Problem: some houses and apartments have windows that face neighbours windows. This leads to a lack of privacy.
Solution: an adhesive polarizing film that covers each window. The alignment of the polarizing films are 90 degrees wrt each other, e.g. one window would have vertical polarizing film, while the other would have horizontal polarizing film.

I have searched on the internet about the same idea but haven't found anything related to it. What do you think guys? Would it be great or lame? Any Feeback or criticism accepted.
"Know Both Sides" - Know BS provides opposing view points on political hot topics
3
Know BS helps users prepare for any political debate. Most people know where they land on the political spectrum, but often aren't prepared to engage in a discussion about the hot political topics of the day -- because they aren't exactly sure where their side falls on the issue.
Know BS is an app that shows list of the hottest political issues of the day. If you click into an issue, the app shows you a bullet-point summary of the facts of the issue. At the bottom, users can click the "Liberal" button or "Conservative" button to pull up a bullet-point list of the Liberal or Conservative arguments / rhetoric for that issue. The app allows people to (1) learn the opposing view; but more likely (2) quickly learn their political side's views on a particular issue -- that way the user can be ready for any debate.

Also people who make wills typically have money and/or valuable assets. So your users have money to spend on the service.

A simple form builder, where you pay-per-form
3
Most form builders are rather complex and clunky, and often require a subscription, where most people just want a one-off form/survey, and don't fell like subscribing just for that. Changing the business model to a pay-per-use one makes much more sense for the customers.

Nightclubs Vending Machines
2
You spend about a third of your life asleep. You'll work for around 90,000 hours in your lifetime. You'll spend at least 3 times that queuing for the bar in nightclubs. The cooler the venue, the longer the queue/more inefficient the pretentious bar staff.
Introducing Nightclub Vending Machines. One wall of the dancefloor is a row of vending machines selling canned craft beer, cocktails that are mixed by a coffee machine-like robot, and self-serve draught beer.
Payment is by contactless card or possibly facial recognition. Tabs can be split automatically between friends. Browse on a touch screen, see nutritional info about the drinks, even start a video call with the bearded hipster that brewed your favourite beer to get his recommendation. The clubs sell 10x as much, no one ever queues again. The DJ could even control a light show inside each machine.
Next up: "Bouncer Machines" that perform a kind of on-the-spot credit score to determine your riskiness as a patron.
An online marketplace where you can buy a start up business package where you get all the info you need to start your custom business today.

You could filter with particular topics, specific genres, preferred length etc. You know it can read all your texts but you decide not to care because pranking your friends is more important enabling us to exploit your valuable data and sell it to big data companies and making enough money to keep the app free.

Use an Ethereum contract and Metamask to put a pool together - like r/millionairmakers except appified. different pools like 100 people put in .1eth and when it hits 100 people in the pool, a random number generator selects a winner who gets 10 eth - low odds of winning but since it's a relatively small group you get to see how stoked the person is who won - or do higher stakes 10 people put in .25eth and the winner gets 2.5 - you get the idea

Find out which podcast episode is best to start with
2
Ever stumbled upon a new podcast, and not been sure what episode to start with? The oldest one? The most recent one?
Unless you're listening to a podcast that tells a story over many episodes (like Serial), many people just check out the most recent episode... but it may not be a good representation of the podcast as a whole.
This platform would be a ranking system for individual podcast episodes
Users sing to popular songs with backing tracks and they are given scores by matching its similarity to the original waveform using some magic algorithm. They can move up the leaderboard for singing well or challenge friends.
Tired after a days work, and don't want a microwave meal. Uber for super simple food - no thrills!
So the idea is to use existing seats available in a car that is readily available and also traveling in the same direction. The idea dawned on me when I helping a friend with his work in construction and we were sitting in traffic stuck on the freeway.
Looking around I see there are plenty of empty seats still around us. Three in ours, four in another car. What stood out to me, was that we were all heading into the same direction.
I figured much like a train or a bus, people can roughly get to a location and make their way to their destination if not there is a certain rate of vehicles traveling in many directions, and who knows one may get you even closer to your destination.
Pricing would have to be competitive and still incentivise the driver. However, the driver isn't going out of their way, they're essentially being paid to still travel in their direction they are headed to without losing their time. But because of this the incentive would naturally be lower than working for Uber.

Diagnosis by audio analysis
2
We've seen amazing results from VISUAL labelling. Now let's gain insights through listening! For a deaf person simply identifying the source of a sound may be helpful, eg "there's a knock at the door", "the dryer is beeping", "glass break in the next room". Even the average person may benefit from savant insights eg "the hvac air filter needs attention", "the home water pressure is gradually decreasing", "the tread on your cars tires is worn"

Personally I feel a reluctance to give to beggars because I feel I may be enabling self-destructive habits. If I could give beggars an account which allows spending only on food, housing, etc. I would feel more inclined to give charitably.
Make texts playable - Feed to Playlist, Articles become playable
1
There are speed reading apps, but speed reading is a secondary benefit. The main idea is showing a total play time for playlist and article, and then playing the text (like subtitles) in a player widget.
The magic of paper photos in the digital world
1
Do you remember the magic and the surprise of revealing the film of your holidays? Those special moments captured by the camera that you almost forgot. Every photo was special and unique. Nowadays we are flooded by photos, we lost that sense of uniqueness. I suggest an app like this:
1) create an event ("Trip to ..." , "summer holidays .." , share it with your family or friends so that they can download the app and collaborate
2) each user can take max 24 photos for each event , just like if it was a film. Then each photo must somehow capture a special moment, something funny and unique.
3) while shooting you cannot see the fullscreen in your phone, you can only see a little pointer, just like in the old vintage cameras.
4) After shooting the pic it is uploaded to the cloud and it's not visible in your gallery.
5) 1 week after the event you can finally "reveal" the film , so that a link with all the pictures is sent to you and all of your collaborators. So it's time to discover those few special shots, those funny moments, those instants captured that made your event unique.
I have few ideas also for monetization, I am looking for collaborators who love photos, mainly some developer who has experience in putting an app in the Play / Apple store.

Facebook Messenger Chat Bot for Top/Best Post of the Day from the FB Group
1
Hi,
Im thinking of a FB Messenger Bot to fetch or gather the best or top post from different FB Groups of that user which he wants to track daily.
As a user, everyone will be part of many FB Groups and each groups will receive a lot of post on daily basic from its member.
And due to FB Algorithm, we may not get all the top post in our New Feeds and we might miss out.
So how about developing a Bot to gather the top post from selected groups of that user interest and show him on daily basis to his messenger to check out ?
Looking forward for your thoughts.
Thanks

1
I made a simple demo/landing page --> newsbie.io
Like a command center for news junkies, it'd be a dashboard-style web app that makes it easy to get an unbiased, bird's eye view of what's going on through aggregation + analysis. The current media landscape of echo chambers, bias, and other crap needs a solution, IMO.
Catch and categorize all worthy Tweets with Questions from your lists and much more. The goal here to get the best from the questions and answers directly from your followers and technical gurus using Twitter. Imagine a Quora with much more qualities... WHY because people from their twitter profil will respond honestly (they are just here to help) with no bullshit without any intent to sell something most of the time.

Indian Startups Listing Platform
1
I'm trying to build a betalist + producthunt kind of website but only for Indian Startups.
I observed that on portals like producthunt, betalist Indian startups are not easily to find ,it's good for readers but not for say lead generation or investor. Indian products are over-shadowed by other countries startups despite of the fact that India is one of the biggest rising country in startups.
So I think of building a platform where I can ask founder/co-founder to list their startups alongwith we will provide knowledgbase of starting a startup in India (it's too complicated in India).
But I have seen that startupbyte.com (competitor) is doing the same and still they are not big as they could be.
I am in dilemma whether to start it or not. What's your point of view on this?
A dead simple platform that lets people post about which kinds of restaurants, grocery stores, or fast food they would like to see open in their local area. It would be the perfect way to fill the spot across the street from me that's seen 4 mismatched restaurants open and close in the last two years.
The best things to buy when you're high :)
I would like to experiment having a dog or cat for a few days/weeks before actually getting one. I'm not sure how much time/attention they take from you and how I would feel with a pet. I don't want to get one and then discover I don't like to have a pet. I was thinking building something like Airbnb for pets. So, I can take care of someone else dog/cat or any pet without actually having it for the rest of my life. I'm not sure about the money side, but It won't be bad for me to get some extra money while I'm doing it (outside the food costs).
Would love to get some feedback on this idea.

Axe-the-Ex for when 'unfriending' isn't enough.
1
So you broke up, and it didn't end well. You've deleted, unfriended and unfollowed, but moving on is hard when their face still finds its way into your news feed. 'Axe-the-Ex' scans your social media channels and removes any trace of your Ex's existence.
When activated, your Facebook news feed will remove photos where your Ex is tagged by mutual friends, it won't count their 'likes', and you will never see their re-tweets.
A Fermi-Estimation social platform
1
A platform where people can register potential Fermi Problems, and anybody can post their estimations, their take on the math and comment on existing problems and estimations.
Would like to see a composite feature to break huge questions down into several smaller ones.
The overall theme could be narrower - for example it could be about predicting the future in general or, even more specifically, what it will take to make mankind a comfortably spacefaring civilization.
